Chillida Leku Museum
Chillida Leku Museum
Summary
Chillida Leku is devoted to the work and life of sculptor Eduardo Chillida. It consists of the “Zabalaga” farmhouse and its garden. It is a unique museum, designed itself as a great work of art. It represents an organic fusion of art and nature. The sculptures are integrated into the landscape as if they had always been part of it. In the garden, which spread over 11 hectares, beeches, oaks and magnolias stand alongside more than 40 monumental sculptures of steel and granite, positioned in perfect dialogue with the environment. Although the works appear monumental, this place is on a human scale, the scale the artist always used in his work, making human beings his yard stick.
The museum is a large open space that can be visited in different ways. There is no single route.
It has car park, a café and a shop.
